Director, Product Innovation at LocalResponse (New York, NY)

We are looking for a skilled individual to work with our sales and technical teams, to create a vision and evolution for brand products. This person will own the roadmap and integrate with the project management process of the technical/operations team to deliver on new products. They will manage the process to close new distribution channels through research, contact, execution of business development relationships, testing, drive production & QA and launch new products/new distribution channels. They will manage third party product and distribution relationships including revenue shares.

- Product Research - own and drive product research strategy including customer, market and competitive research for market opportunity, customer needs identification, concept value testing and pricing/licensing.

- Business Development - reach out to key decision markers at publishers across new products and negotiate revenue share deals to onboard to our adnetwork.

- Value Proposition and Value Development - lead partnership with product development on product definition, core value proposition.

- Competitive Strategy - responsible for analyzing our position (SWOT) relative to key competitors through combination of competitive research and product teardowns. Influence competitive product strategy and develop competitive materials for partners and the field, and define/manage competitive escalation process.

- Industry Thought Leadership - build deep relationships with industry influentials to help shape product strategy and build positive perceptions of LocalResponse products.

- Drive production & QA - work with VP operations and technical team to spec and manage buildout (including quality assurance) of new products.

Lion Hater Becomes Lion Lover

Okay, so my first experience with Lion was a disaster. -Broken Wifi -Very sluggish/laggy performance in Finder -Safari an experience in beach-ball watching -Using Handbrake or other CPU-intensive apps bogged my iMac down so bad I had to restart. These symptoms were the same when I installed over Snow Leopard, and also when I did a clean install. I even went so far as to get a refund from Apple. I'll admit that part was a bit petulant, but I was angry that Apple had released an OS that was so mangled (on my computer). When 10.7.1 came out I was tempted to retry, so I waited a week or so and then did a Time Machine backup of my Snow Leopard setup, in case I was disappointed again. However, I was not disappointed at all with Lion 10.7.1! In fact, my mid-2007 iMac (2GB RAM) has never run better! Everything on the machine runs quicker (and yes, snappier). Safari is running like a dream, and I've ditched Chrome browser for now because Safari is finally every bit as quick. In the spirit of trying out new things, I've started using Launcher instead of going to the Applications section of a Finder window. I can't say Launcher is any better, but it's really no worse. Mission Control is fine with me, too, although not being a power user, I don't use it much. So, since I came on these forums to trash the initially broken version of Lion, I come here to humbly say that the Lion that now runs on my Mac is a definite improvement over Snow Leopard (except for missing Front Row!) I'm now a Lion lover. :D

It was only a matter of time before leaked screen shots of HTC's Sense 3.5 became leaked video footage. Purportedly running on the OEM's unreleased, ladies-only Bliss handset, XDA.cn has a hands-on of the Android-based UI that looks to be more of a refinement, than revolutionary update. So, what can we glimpse from this apparent sneak peek? The ROM, shown to be running atop Android 2.3.4, now sports a more pared-down look, as evinced by the lock screen's sleeker ring. There's still the same seven homescreens on offer, although it now appears you can delete the contents of a selected screen by dragging it to the trash. Gone is the familiar home panel with its curved shape, in favor of two non-intrusive, dedicated app and phone buttons on the left and right sides of the screen. The widgets also look to have taken on a roomier size, and the volume can now be controlled via an on-screen widget. Aside from those minor tweaks, not much else has changed, but you can definitely see an improvement in the UI's fluidity. Could this be HTC's very next upgrade to its popular Android skin, or are we looking at a slickly-produced ROM? You can judge for yourself in the video after the break.
